A Piece of Sky and a Piece of Earth: On Wine and Time” – the autobiography of Božidar Aleksandrović

We are pleased to share that on June 23, the launch of the autobiographical book by Božidar Aleksandrović, “Deo neba i komad zemlje: o vinu i vremenu,” took place at Kafeterija Bukmarker, within the Delfi SKC bookstore.

The event was moderated by Ivan Stanković, while excerpts from the book were read by Maja Žeželj, bringing the audience closer to a story dedicated to vineyards, family, and the creation of Vinarija Aleksandrović.

Speaking about how the book came to life, Božidar Aleksandrović said:

“I surprised myself with this book as well, as I did not see myself in the role of a writer. In casual conversations over drinks, we often returned to everything we had been through. It is a shame for all of that to be forgotten. Perhaps that is also the reason why I sat down to write.”

The book takes readers from childhood among the vineyards at the foothills of Oplenac, through the first harvests and the first bottles with labels, to the challenges of rebuilding Serbian winemaking and the creation of the modern Vinarija Aleksandrović, today recognized and respected worldwide.

Reflecting on his life and professional journey, the author stated:

“I have always moved forward because there was no other choice. And today we continue to have great plans and ambitions.”
